From the time my father brought home our first family dog Spike, a boxer
pup, there was always a special place in my heart for dogs. Spike was a
loyal family member for 13yrs, until he passed away from cancer. That was
the first time I saw my father cry. Years later, I was in college, and a fellow student found a 3 month old puppy on the street. I was not ready for a puppy, but she was ready for me! I quickly fell in love with her soft coat,
playful nature, and pudgy belly. She was teething, biting my hands and clothes,
no clue that she was homeless without food and nurture.

| Five years later, Zap,
a 60lb border collie, is my best friend! Who would have thought!
When Connie approached me about the "Dog Speak" project, I knew it would be
an adventure. Thrilled at the opportunity to work with Connie and share our
love of canine friends. I researched dogs, created around 100 sketches &
illustrations, and helped to develop the unique card line over the next
year. My role included conceptual designs, illustrations, greeting cards
graphic designs, PID cards, envelope, logo, and Dog Speak catalogue
